Kodak Mobile Postcard Service
KODAK Mobile Service has paired up with handset and carrier leaders to provide mobile phone users with a fast and easy way to send personalised photo postcards direct from camera phones.

USA Press Release: When vacation days are numbered, it’s critical to make the most of time away from the office. With the best of intentions, enthusiastic travelers purchase stacks of postcards featuring local sites yet they forget to mail them or run out of stamps. Whether soaking up the rays or taking a break from the slopes, consumers can now send personalized photo postcards right from their camera phones and have the 4x6” card mailed directly to friends and family members back home--no stamps (or stress) required. KODAK Mobile Service has a variety of exclusive borders to choose from, including movie and sports borders and a border to support the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

With the new KODAK Mobile Service Postcard Application, consumers simply snap a picture, select a border design, enter a personalized message and an address and Kodak will mail the postcard to any U.S. address. Within a few days, friends and family will be delighted to find personalized postcards waiting for them in their mailbox, not their inbox. Postcards can be sent anytime, anywhere from a variety of phones including MOTOROLA V710, V260, V265, V276; KYOCERA: KX2 and the AUDIOVOX CDM-8940 on the VERIZON Wireless network.

“At Kodak, we recognize that consumers want easy ways to stay connected to friends and family to share their stories,” said Dave Geary, senior vice president, KODAK Mobile Service. “Our consumers are looking for convenient wireless solutions to everyday hassles - their time is precious. KODAK Mobile’s Postcard Application is one example of how Kodak continues to create innovative easy-to-use solutions for today’s on-the-go consumer.”

The KODAK Mobile Postcard Application can be downloaded in pre-paid single-use increments for USD$1.99 or in bundles of three postcards for USD$4.99, and five postcards for USD$7.99. All first-class U.S. postage is included. The charge will be billed directly to the customer’s phone bill.

About

From Glass Plates to Digital Images

With the slogan "you press the button, we do the rest," George Eastman in 1888 put the first simple camera into the hands of a world of consumers. In so doing, he made what had been a cumbersome and complicated process easy to use and accessible to nearly everyone.

Through the years, Kodak has led the way with an abundance of new products and processes that have made photography simpler, more useful and more enjoyable. Today, our work increasingly involves digital technology, combining the power and convenience of electronics with the quality of traditional photography to produce systems that bring levels of utility and fun to the taking, "making" and utilization of images.

What George Eastman began remains a goal of Eastman Kodak Company today, to provide convenience and quality to our customers so more and more people can experience the special wonders of photography and capture and re-live their more cherished moments.
