Samsung Digimax D103 Digital Camera
International Release: In a super quite last minute Christmas release Samsung would have to take the crown as the digital camera manufacturer to release a model closest to Christmas!

The Samsung UK website has posted a new model, the Samsung Digimax D103 without even a hint of press release. However there are plenty of images on the site for the camera along with specifications, part names and components. At a glance, the camera has a 10.1 megapixel capture, 2.5 inch LCD, 1000ISO, 3x Optical zoom, 10x Digital zoom, Auto Macro and DPOF (Digital Print Order Format (DPOF), which is a print setting function that enables users to have the desired pictures printed by a printer, by entering which images to print, and the number of copies of each, into the memory card where pictures are stored.

Below a grabs of information from the site:

-- The Digimax D103 is a high resolution digital camera equipped with a true-colour filtered 10.1megapixel CCD and a 30x total zoom (3x optical, 10x digital), allowing you to produce high-quality, detailed photos for printing up to poster size.

-- The Digimax D103's large 2.5" LCD has improved contrast and colour reproduction for easy imaging framing and reviewing.

-- The Digimax D103 supports ISO 1000, making it one of the most light-sensitive models in its class. This allow you to use faster shutter speeds - great for moving objects and capturing crisp images in low light conditions. [Select from ISO/AUTO 80, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1000]

-- The Digimax D103 has some great special effect functions - including Colour Effect, Highlight, Photo Frame andComposite Shot - that give you unique, and sometimes amusing, shooting experiences beyond conventional picture-taking. You can access each of these special effects with just one touch ofthe “E” button.

-- The powerful video capability of the Digimax D103 delivers a camcorder like experience. The Digimax D103 with a high-compression, high-quality video format, can record up to 3 – 4 times longer than traditional camera formats providing a more enhanced movie shooting experience. Videos are recorded in VGA (640 x 480) at 30fps, with wider screen view and greater video quality so videos are able to be viewed at full size on a TV.

-- The Digimax D103 automatically adjusts theshooting distance and focus from between 4cm to infinity, helping you to get great close-up shots more easily. For more detailed macro pictures the additional Macro mode allows you to take shots of subjects as close as 4cm.

-- The family-friendly mode dial - with Night, Portrait and Children modes - make it easier to get great shots of the family by giving instant access to the appropriate mode for each individual situation. Children mode, with its open aperture and fast shutter speeds, lets you "freeze" children and other subjects in fast-moving action shots. Night mode automatically uses the slow synchronization function to help you get clearer and brighter pictures at night. The Portrait mode delivers more realistic, flattering people shots with improved red-eye reduction.

-- The Digimax D103's print button makes direct printing easier than ever. Simply connect the D103 to any PictBridge compatible photoprinter, press the illuminated print button and print! You can also use this button to transfer your images directly to a computer.
