Victorian Division July 2003 No 3 Results of Victorian Professional photographer of the Year Judging: Once again we had a fabulous judging and the Fenix Centre proved an excellent choice for holding this years judging. Our thanks go to our sponsors for without them we could not present these awards. Our thanks also go to the workers behind the scenes and the judges who give up their valuable time to make the awards happen. There were 18 Masters, 8 Associates and 23 members who entered and of the 23 members 10 were first year members. Prints judged per category were as follows: Commercial - 24, Landscape - 46, Portrait - 78, Wedding - 75, Illustrative - 80 Awards were granted as follows: Gold with Distinction - 2, Gold - 11, Silver with Distinction - 46, Silver - 122 72 people attended the Awards Presentation and 69 continued on for the post awards dinner. All in all it was a great success and we look forward to your continued support and participation in these awards in 2004. Founded in 1963, the AIPP is a not-for-profit organisation run voluntarily for and by professional photographers and industry representatives who seek to set a standard of excellence within the photographic industry.
The AIPP strives to promote and maintain the highest standards of professional competence and business ethics in the industry. By maintaining rigorous entry criteria and a binding Code of Ethics for members, as well as providing ongoing education via seminars, workshops and events, the AIPP is a brand of trust in the photographic industry.
