Canon PIXMA MG6150 and MG8150 All-In-One Printers

canon20100817a.jpgCanon unveils two advanced PIXMA printers, featuring the industry-first Intelligent Touch System. The two new Canon PIXMA all-in-one printers with their sleek, compact design and easy-to-use technologies deliver the ultimate in at-home printing.

At-home photo and document printing is now easier and better than ever thanks to two additions to Canon Australia’s range of PIXMA all-in-one printers, launched today.  The PIXMA MG6150 and the top-of-the-line MG8150, offer Canon's new Intelligent Touch System providing users with a unique touch operation experience, as well as Full High Definition (HD) Movie Print, allowing users to print out their favourite moments from full HD movies.

“These new stylish, compact PIXMA all-in-one printers for the home look good and make it easier than ever to get creative and produce calendars, t-shirt transfers, photos and CD/DVDs from your printer,” said Beryl Thomas, Brand Manager – PIXMA, Canon Australia. “The new Intelligent Touch System makes printing more enjoyable than ever, while new features such as Full HD Movie Print provide users with more creative printing options.”

Simple and intuitive operation

Canon’s Intelligent Touch System is a first in the inkjet printer industry and it not only looks good but also provides users with simple navigation and operation while printing. With Canon’s Intelligent Touch System only the necessary keys on the operation panel light up to guide users through to high-quality prints. When in Power OFF, no operation keys (except the Power key) are seen on the printer’s top cover.

Further providing a trouble-free experience for users, the PIXMA MG6150 and MG8150 work straight out of the box - no complicated settings to adjust to get the best performance.

Wi-Fi Certified as well, the MG6150 and MG8150 offer fast printing (PC-free) conveniently from anywhere in the house, inside or out.  Both models have a maximum colour resolution of 9600 x 2400 dpi and can create a 4 x 6 inch borderless photo of superb quality in approximately 20 seconds.

For Apple iPhone and iPod touch users, the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint EX application is now compatible with the new Wireless multifunction printers allowing images to be printed quickly and easily shared with friends and family.

Creative possibilities are endless

Printing amazing, high-quality images first caught on Full HD video has never been easier. Full HD Movie Print allows users to print out individual frames from HD movies shot with a Canon camera as beautiful still-photographs.

So often, those important special moments, such as a child blowing out candles on their birthday cake, can pass more quickly than you can capture them. Now users can capture those memories in video, so that they never miss the moment, and with the new PIXMA Full HD Movie Print feature, will still have the ability to print and share it in a high-quality still.

Film and Slide Scanning, another unique feature on the MG8150, lets users print exceptional stills from negative and positive films (35mm film or slides). Just think of all those memories stored-away on old negatives and slides. These too can now be converted to digital and printed conveniently at home.

Both the MG8150 and MG6150 contain a 6-colour Individual Ink System including pure grey ink, which reduces graininess, to produce true-to-life photo quality and stunning black and white prints that resist fading.

In addition, both the PIXMA MG8150 and MG6150 feature direct CD/DVD printing, offering even further hassle-free and versatile solutions that meet the needs of those who demand quality.

Canon CREATIVE PARK

Canon’s CREATIVE PARK allows users to explore their creative sides. CREATIVE PARK offers free 3D paper craft projects, scrapbooking templates and embellishments, novel greeting cards, and educational materials. As an added bonus, with the purchase of select new PIXMA printers, users will be provided with exclusive printable content through CREATIVE PARK PREMIUM. This content includes post cards, albums, and many more projects including paintings by renowned artists from around the globe.

Canon FINE Technology

The new PIXMA printers incorporate Canon’s FINE print head technology, unique in the inkjet printing world for enabling the creation of high-quality prints without sacrificing speed. FINE print head technology has been consistently recognised as an advantage by users since its introduction more than a decade ago.

Canon Supports ISO/IEC 24734 and 24735 Productivity Standards for Inkjet Printers

Helping customers evaluate and compare print speeds of various printer models, Canon applies the ISO/IEC 24734 and 24735 International Standards for measuring print and copy speed. The standards measure print and copy output in images-per-minute (ipm), and calculate print and copy speed by printing out a number of standard Microsoft Excel, Word and PDF documents on letter-sized paper in default mode. Canon was the first vendor in Australia to adopt the standards, with many other vendors still measuring print and copy speed in pages-per-minute (ppm).

Green printers

The new range of PIXMA printers are designed to be more sustainable and incorporate a number of features to help users reduce their environmental impact. Auto Duplex printing, ENERGY STAR compliance, significant changes to product packaging (smaller packaging designs and less cardboard/internal packaging used), the use of recycled materials and a quick start function helps users to save paper and reduce their carbon emissions.
