Epson EH-TW5000 & EH-TW4000 Projectors |
![]() The EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 deliver an incredible 75,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with Epson’s innovative DeepBlack™ technology and new version of Epson’s E-TORL lamp, which produces the ultimate deep, rich blacks in smoothly flowing images by increasing the native contrast ratio of the projector by a factor of about four. These outstanding home cinema projectors each have 3 of Epson’s latest generation D7 C2Fine LCD panels with larger apertures to increase the native contrast of the projector, and Epson’s Crystal Clear Fine filters that reduce light leakage and further increase native contrast. The EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 have a 12 bit driver for the image processors to deliver smoother colour gradation by reproducing up to 68.72 billion colours. And the EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 use Epson’s FineFrame™ interpolation technology to deconstruct and reconstruct the signal from High Definition video sources such as Blu-ray players for a consistent 1080p frame rate output of up to 120 Hz, virtually eliminating flicker and frame–to–frame judder. As a result, in fast action scenes blurring is suppressed and pictures are much smoother and sharper. The Hollywood Quality Video (HQV™) Reon™ VX video processing chip from IDT (formerly Silicon Optix) in the EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 delivers smoother and less jagged lines, mosquito noise reduction, block noise reduction, contrast enhancement (user selectable), and 4-4 pull down, improving the overall image quality. The 4:4 pulldown function also makes corrections for improperly encoded sources, and features a reverse 2:3 pulldown detection and correction function. The colour and image management technologies are complemented by a state-of-the-art OptiCinema lens system, a brand trusted by renowned Hollywood filmmakers. This precision, high quality optical grade system was co-developed with Fujinon, a top supplier of precision camera optics to the world’s leading HD camera makers. This lens system offers: * Maximum picture uniformity * Clarity across the entire screen * Freedom from colour fringing * Precision focus with 2.1x zoom * Maximum installation flexibility with 96% vertical / 47% horizontal lens shift Both the EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 have an energy efficient Epson E-TORL lamp that delivers 1600 lumen of White Light Output and 1600 lumen of Colour Light Output**. And as with all Epson projectors the power consumption and heat output of the EH-TW5000 and EH-TW4000 is far lower than plasma screens which give a smaller image. Unique to the EH-TW5000 is a colour isolation function that allows the user to individually adjust each colour (RGB) through an onscreen menu against calibrated colour bars or chromaticity points, to allow for the different colour settings of source material that occur between regions and recording and broadcast systems. The EH-TW5000 will also accept an optional anamorphic lens that will automatically remove the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen while at the same time creating a balanced but even wider and brighter image. Both projectors have a wide range of connection options including two HDMI ports, component video, S-video, RCA, 15 pin mini D-Sub, and RS232C ports. With seven preset colour modes - Dynamic, Living Room, Natural, Theatre, Theatre Black 1 and 2, and x.v.Colour – these projectors allow users to select the mode that best suits their viewing environment. For those who like to fine tune the projector to the precise room dynamics, a powerful six-axis colour adjustment capability gives total control over video output. The EH-TW5000 comes with a 3 year warranty covering both the projector and the lamp. The Epson EH-TW5000 is $5299 RRP and the EH-TW4000 is $4799 RRP. These advanced high definition digital projectors are available through selected AV specialists. |
