The Epson R-D1xG will also have simultaneous JPG and (12-bit) RAW format capture, an APS-C size CCD image sensor using Epson's Image Processing Technology "EDiART (EPSON Digital Image ARTist), and a low noise in-camera filter allowing shooting up to 1600ISO and a long-exposure noise reduction mode.

Epson Japan have announced a new digital camera with the Epson R-D1xG. It is an update on the previous R-D1 and R-D1s models, and at the moment is only being released in April 2009, iin Japan. The news, published in Japanese and translated via a Google translator comes through pretty rough but what we can gauge is that the R-D1xG will be fitted out with a 2.5inch fixed LCD, an M EM mount (along with a mention/reference of a Carl Zeiss lens), a 4 needle indicator resembling a car dash board for measuring elements such as the aperture and battery power remaining and other buttons that resemble a traditional 80's styling to the camera.
