 Professional restoration of positive and negative film, photos and documents for imaginative and creative uses or preservation by archiving is simple and easy with Epson’s ingenious Perfection V600 Photo scanner, released this month.The Epson Perfection® V600 Photo is designed to produce exceptional image quality scans with the integrated matrix CCD and micro lens technology capable of scanning at up to 6400 x 9600dpi optical resolution at a 48 bit colour depth, and scan an A4page at 300 dpi in as little as 6 seconds. Combined with the ability to operate at an optical density of 3.4Dmax yielding a full range of tonal detail from shadow to highlight areas, the Perfection V600 Photo faithfully produces archive quality copies of film, photos and documents. In keeping with Epson’s commitment to Better Products for a Better Future, the Perfection V600 Photo uses Epson’s innovative ReadyScan LED Technology, reducing power use and heat output, eliminating mercury from the light source, and reducing start-up time to less than one second. For efficient and flexible film scanning the Perfection V600 Photo has a fully integrated transparency unit (TPU) and versatile film holder for a wide variety of film formats, including 12 frames of 35mm filmstrip, 4 frames of 35mm mounted slides and medium format up to 6 x 22cms. The Perfection V600 Photo is equipped with Digital ICE technology that uses both hardware and software during the scanning process to detect and remove dust and scratch marks on both film and photo scans with incredible accuracy. Partnered with the advanced colour restoration techniques in the Epson Scan software, the Perfection V600 Photo produces outstanding results every time. The versatile Epson Scan software can be used either as a TWAIN driver within programs such as Adobe Photoshop, or as a full functional standalone program, delivering an amazing range of scanning and photo features that make full use of the Perfection V600 Photo’s advanced scanning technologies. It also has four pre-set modes – Full Auto, Home, Office and Professional - to meet the needs of home users all the way through to professional users. The Perfection V600 Photo comes with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7, a powerful and flexible photo editing software that allows users to edit and manipulate their scanned images for a professional transformation, and ABBYY Fine Reader Sprint, an easy to use tool based on powerful ABBYY technologies that converts scanned documents into editable formats, such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, and creates searchable Adobe pdf files. The Perfection V600 Photo is compatible with Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Professional/ XP Home edition/ XP Professional/ XP Professional x64 Edition/ Vista (pre-installed model), and Mac® OS 10.2.8 or later.
