Fujifilm is proud to announce the launch of the FinePix XP10, the first in a new category of super-resilient compact camera that really can withstand the elements.
Four-way protection The FinePix XP10 is the ultimate lifestyle camera. Drop it, soak it, freeze it or bury it in sand, this camera will come out unscathed. Not only is the XP10 waterproof to 3 metres, but it is also shockproof to 1 metre, freezeproof to minus 10oC and dustproof, too, giving users total confidence that they can take it with them wherever they go, whatever they are doing, regardless of the conditions.
A tough camera with good looks Most tough and waterproof compact cameras have big, bulky shells. This is where the FinePix XP10 really stands out. Although it is waterproof, dustproof, freezeproof and shockproof it still retains the handsome, chiselled design of a conventional compact camera, making it suitable for both taking down the beach surfing or slipping into your pocket or handbag for a night out.
With a gorgeous metal body, the XP10 is a camera that looks and feels highly sophisticated, but still offers all the practicalities of an 'outdoor' camera.
Carefully disguised in its slender shell is a high quality Fujinon 5x internal vertical zoom lens. The Fujinon glass elements have an ion coating to give five times more protection than a conventional lens. What's more, the 5x zoom operates internally meaning it is extra protected from knocks and scrapes. Match this with Digital Image Stabilisation to reduce image-blur, high sensitivity settings (to ISO 1600) and a high resolution 12 Megapixel CCD sensor, and this camera delivers sharp and clear images at the touch of a button.
Advanced Technology To ensure perfect results every time, the XP10 employs SR AUTO to intelligently identify the scene type and the shooting conditions present, and optimises the camera's settings as appropriate.
It also features Fujifilm's highly-effective and acclaimed Face Detection technology with auto red-eye removal, which eliminates any unsightly red-eye in-camera whilst the photo is being taken.
High Definition Additionally, 720p HD image and movie capture meaning memories can be re-lived in glorious high definition on any HD ready television*. *To connect to an HD-ready TV, you will need a HD Card Reader and HDMI cable (optional extras).
NEW Easy Web Upload If you want to share your adventures with friends online the XP10's NEW Facebook/YouTube Easy Web Upload function will make your life so much easier. This feature saves time being spent trawling through the photos on your computer to decide which ones to upload, instead, in playback mode on the camera you got to the Menu option and 'mark' a picture for Facebook or You Tube upload. Then once you connect the XP10 to a computer and access the MyFinePix Studio software (included in the box), all you have to do is press "upload" and the marked pictures and videos will transfer to the selected site.
NEW Target Focus The perfect tool for capturing those fast-paced action shots, Target Focus tracks fast moving subjects so they don't escape from the frame in a blur. This handy function racks a subject automatically for as long as the shutter is half-pressed; the subject is kept in the frame and when you fully press the shutter button your subject will be in the centre of the photo, in sharp focus.
NEW Movie Editing mode and Blog mode Get creative and add your own finishing touches to your videos and images, amongst others you can choose from B&W, Sepia, or you can even add a dynamic lighting effect, all this in-camera.
