FujiFilm Introduce Photo Books

Consumers can now conveniently create their own unique and personalised photo books and photo gifts online, following the development of an innovative new photo service powered by FUJIFILM.

FUJIFILM Australia General Manager – Imaging Networks, Paul Rogers, said the new online service gives consumers the option to source photos already uploaded onto social network accounts such as Facebook, FLICKR and MySpace and import them to their online photo book and photo gift creations.

“From an industry perspective, FUJIFILM estimates more than one million photo books alone will be ordered online in 2009,” Mr Rogers said.

“In addition to being able to order photo books and photo gifts in-store, consumers now also have the option to order online by navigating their way through a
user-friendly menu that offers various themes and layout options.

“Consumers are now very familiar with ordering photo books and photo gifts in-store, and we expect this new online capability will become an extension of that.

“The sophisticated software that drives our online photo service is known as Imagine, a membership-based application developed by Whitech which provides consumers with a rich internet experience and enables the highest level of personalisation for online photo gifting creations.

“With every photo book and photo gifting project, consumers are able to customise their designs and apply their own artistic flair and imagination to enhance their treasured photos of family and friends.

“For instance, consumers can personalise photo book covers, select from a range of background colours and styles, plus also determine the number of images they would like per page.

“Using the large selection of designs and themes, each project can be enhanced as required by adding text in a choice of colours, selecting the font style, justifying the text, or creating a border to design an individual keepsake that is sure to impress.

“Consumers will have 24-hour access to their online projects, which can also be saved and revisited at any time that suits,” he said.

Mr Rogers said the new online photo service – powered by FUJIFILM – will be available through a range of major retail stores from early April 2009.
