Samsung Electronics Australia, Ltd. today expands its presence in the premium camera market with a new stylish line up that reinforces the company’s continued commitment to delivering the latest innovations in digital imaging technology to consumers, from enthusiast to professional. The 2011 range spans right across the camera market with new High Performance, Ultra-Zoom, 2View, Camcorder and Wi-Fi models.

NX Evolution: NX11 & New Lenses

The NX11 is an upgraded model based on the NX10, compatible with the new i-Function lenses, introduced for the NX100. The NX11 will come complete with a 18-55mm i-Function lens, as well as two new i-Function lenses, a 20mm pancake and a 20-50mm zoom silver color lens. As with the NX10, the NX11 uses the best in class APS-C sensor for better image quality. The APS-C sensor is larger than Micro 4/3 delivering higher quality images easily. The NX11 also focuses on usability, with advancements in grip design to make shooting easier and more comfortable.

The i-Function lens puts the perfect picture at the fingertips of all photographers. Users can toggle between shutter speed, aperture, EV, WB, and ISO quickly and easily by simply using the i-Function button and ring on the lens, meaning easier and quicker configuration while shooting.

Along with the five lenses released in 2010, Samsung added another five innovative new lenses for its NX camera system including a premium portrait lens and lenses for movie capturing, opening new creative avenues for NX users to explore.

Connected SH100 Camera & Switch Grip HMX-Q10 Camcorder

The new compact SH100 Wi-Fi enabled camera is the ultimate for sharing memories. The built in Wi-Fi means you can automatically back up your shots to your PC, or use AllShare (DLNA) to hook up to your HDTV and see your photos and videos straight away. Connect the camera with your Android-powered Samsung GALAXY smartphone and you can use your phone to view the shot you’re about to take in real time. The Wi-Fi also enables you to upload your pictures instantly to social networking sites such as Facebook, Picasa or Photo Bucket, or to email them to individual email addresses straight from the camera.
 
Samsung has created the HMX-Q10 to be a compact, practical and easy-to-use full HD camcorder that combines the best in Samsung innovation with incredibly simple functions, all available at an affordable price. It combines the world’s first Switch Grip with Easy Operation via an LCD screen. The Switch Grip means that however the camcorder is held, the G-magnetic sensor inside the HMX-Q10 recognises the angle and turns the LCD display so it’s easy to see and control recording easily from any angle.

Ultra-slim Samsung Zooms: WB210, PL120 & WB700

New Samsung Utlra-Zooms offer wide angle and intuitive features that make it easier than ever to take great pictures. These three cameras have been designed to deliver clear and detailed pictures, controlled through an intuitive new Smart Access user interface all packed into a sleek and super portable camera.

Featuring a huge 24mm ultra-wide Schneider KREUZNACH lens, the new WB700 is able to capture the perfect wide-angle shot, as well as an outstanding 18x zoom function, made up of an 18x optical zoom plus a 1.3x Smart Zoom. The flexibility of the WB700’s lens and zoom functions delivers sharp images with incredible detail in close up thanks to the camera’s 14 Megapixel CCD sensor. With Samsung’s latest advances in HD video technology, such as an advanced noise reduction algorithm, the camera also actively cancels out the zoom noise, giving users uninterrupted clear sound.

The WB210 boasts a long 12x optical super zoom lens set in a slimline 22.4mm body, to make capturing distant subjects in perfect detail easier than ever. Its huge 14 megapixel camera means crystal clear pictures which can be displayed on its large 3.5” touch screen using Samsung’s new Smart Access UI system to deliver unprecedented usability. The WB210 also delivers HD quality movie recording, as well as face detection, and includes the option of a 21mm wide angle setting through its super wide shot mode to get deeper shots at closer range.

If you’re looking for simplicity and great shots, the PL210 offers a comprehensive set of features to help capture better images. It features a 10x optical zoom with 27mm wide angle lens in a body measuring just 19.7mm to ensure portability, and a large 3.0” LCD screen for an enjoyable photography experience every time. The PL210 also guarantees high image quality with its 14 Megapixel sensor and HD movie capabilities.

Continued 2View Innovation: ST700 & PL120

Samsung first brought the 2View technology innovation to the market towards the end of 2009. Since then, additional models have strengthened Samsung’s leadership in this field, while also rapidly expanding the company’s market share within compact cameras as a whole.

The ST700 represents the ultimate in dual screen innovation from Samsung. The new camera boasts a 1.8” front LCD screen, the largest ever incorporated into this style of camera, giving even more opportunities for portrait self-shooting that has become the hallmark of the 2View camera. But the innovation doesn’t end there – the impressive front screen is complemented by a new 3.0” touch screen with Smart Access UI on the back of the camera for seamless usability and clear, crisp image display. The ST700 doesn’t lose out on image quality either, with a 16.1 Megapixel (MP) image sensor and a 26mm 5x optical zoom lens for innovative image capturing; making this the most advanced 2View camera to date, allowing you to be part of the perfect moment.

The PL120 will bring the added value of dual screen technology to all camera users, letting every photographer get out from behind the lens and start self-shooting in style. In addition to the bright 1.5” front screen that allows you to perfectly frame your portrait, the PL120 also incorporates the Easy Self Shot feature from the ST700, which enables you to turn on only the front screen to give yourself added privacy.
